It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The- OWLS. IT'S TIME FOR OWLS. BY LIZ

That's right, owls.
They aren't just for Halloween anymore.

Don't give me that shocked look.
They arrived late into the night, and insist on blessing us with their....fabulous winter themed decor.
OWLS.

WINTER THEMED SNOWY OWLS.  They're back.

I'm sure you've experienced them too, this holiday season.  It can't just be me.  That would be silly.
By the way, just to be clear, there are other decorative animals here.  Like these.  Not owls at all.
These are metal parrots.

To say I only decorate in owls would be silly.
But not as silly as a tree that is missing an owl in December.
That would be sad.
So sad, in fact, that I forgot to take photos of the tree before the owl arrived.
Here is the original owl.

There are a lot of decoy owls out there, but this one seems to be the largest and most noble of plastic molded owls.  Thank you to Dunham's Sports for having this owl, yet at the same time discontinuing him and replacing said owl with smaller, lame owls.  I will have to shop around next time there is a calling for owls.

The eyes on this one were going to be an orange tone, so please be aware that the next pic is unsettling.

Ah, for the love of art.  It will be fixed.  Because this is a snowy owl.

Base coat, achieved.  However, snowy owls don't have horn tuffs like their cousin, the Decorated For Halloween Owl, so a little sawing of love had to take place.  That's what the Dremel is for.

Labor of love.  He's patched on the head, and has begun collecting pointless snow camouflage, like black flecks on the feathers, gray on the toes, unnecessary cords around his feet,

and a bunch of silver decorative swirls on his wings.

Hobby Lobby had a sale on discontinued stickers.
Here we have the same mold, but two very different owls.

I'm pleased with the owls I customized.  They are meant to go outside in the mini tree, but we haven't had any snow yet.  I attempted to place it on top of our Christmas tree, but Dave intervened.

He told me I was banished to photoshopping owls in trees.  Like this.

Could have been amazing, Dave.  Could have been great.
When there's snow outside, (it's currently the middle of December) the snowy owl will triumph like the owl of Halloween, welcoming the Falcon of Valentine's Day.

And then the cycle is complete.
